Control & Automation
Furnace Control: PLC / SCADA
Real-time furnace operation, fire-curve control, pressure regulation, combustion management, alarms, safety interlocks and data acquisition, all on an independent Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 PLC for every furnace.
- S7-1500
- Independent Siemens SIMATIC PLC per furnace
- ±2 Pa
- Pressure control at 20 Pa range within 10 minutes
- 1,350 °C
- Curve library up to 1,350 °C
- 24/7
- Remote support with maintenance contracts
Independent PLC per Furnace
- All functions controlled by an independent Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 control system for each furnace
- Fully automatic operation with manual override
- Audible and visual alarm system covering every operational and safety condition
- Burners, gas/air and combustion management, fire-curve control, pressure regulation, alarms and safety interlocks handled on the furnace PLC
Curve and Pressure Control
- Built-in curve library: ISO 834, slow heating, HC, HCM, RABT, RWS and custom curves up to 1,350 °C
- Furnace pressure control ±2 Pa at 20 Pa range, stabilized within 10 minutes
- HMI trend screens: furnace temperature against the curve, furnace pressure and pressure actuator position
PLC / SCADA controls the furnace. DataBrain learns, compares, analyzes and supports the test.
Full Test Traceability
Temperature, pressure and actuator data are logged for the complete test record. The LED elapsed-time display starts automatically when the programme starts or when the first thermocouple reaches 50 °C; the start time is adjustable between the UL, BS and EN required start times.
- Plate thermometers, furnace and specimen thermocouples, pressure transducers, radiometers and additional measurement channels according to the project
- Data handed over to DataBrain for observations, events and report preparation
Remote Diagnostics and Support
Siemens PLC automation provides full data logging, alarms and remote diagnostics. In Saudi Arabia, STARKOS implemented a new control, supervision and data-archiving system on three existing third-party furnaces, commissioned them and supports them under an annual maintenance contract with 24/7 remote support.
Modernize an Existing Furnace
Most furnaces on the market are mechanically sound but digitally outdated. STARKOS replaces the control, supervision and archiving layer of existing third-party furnaces and upgrades extraction and pressure regulation to EN 1363-1, followed by commissioning.
